Sub id’s provide additional URL parameters for segmenting clicks to the same Link, allowing you to track unique user attributes, traffic sources, banners, or Link placements.
Setting them up is straightforward. Add “/subid1” to your tracking Link to create the first sub id. For the second level, add “/subid2”. You can use either “/” or “?subid1=insert_subid1”.
Here’s an example of how your tracking Link should look after editing:
http://qlikerkb.qltrk.com/l/example9/SUBID1/SUBID2/SUBID3/SUBID4/SUBID5
OR
http://qlikerkb.qltrk.com/l/example9?subid1=SUBID1&subid2=SUBID2&subid3=SUBID3&subid4=SUBID4&subid5=SUBID5
You can see in different colours how each sub id is presented in the tracking Link.
It is possible to stack up to 5 different sub id’s. It is important to name them differently like in this example. You can copy and edit the templates under the video to quickly set up your sub id’s.
To access the performance of your subid’s, simply click on the TCL number associated with the Link. This action will allow you to access the data.
Once you’ve accessed the data, you’ll notice the performance of the sub id displayed as an additional parameter alongside your link data.
By leveraging this feature, you can gain deeper insights into the effectiveness of each sub id and optimise your campaigns accordingly. Don’t miss out on this valuable opportunity to refine your tracking and improve your campaign performance!
